Position Description:

Organizational Role:

Contribute in achieving clear alignment regarding Flowserve’s business requirements, while enhancing performance of existing and new suppliers. Support engagement of operations in to develop and drive increased supplier capability and performance.

Develop and maintain supplier capabilities in support of a diverse and expanding manufacturing footprint. Achieve Flowserve Strategic Objectives, select and qualify suppliers and implement seamless material flow.

To lead improvement of supplier quality and safety for assigned suppliers and reduce the Supplier Cost of Poor Quality (SCOPQ) for Flowserve

To approve and develop new suppliers to required levels of performance expected by Flowserve and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers.

Develop and maintain relationships in order to improve partnerships between Flowserve and its Suppliers.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to the management of the supplier audit process. Audit critical suppliers annually, identify opportunities for improvement, & guide on implementation of more effective processes. Lead the corrective actions process following the audits.

  2. Assist in the drive cross-site and supplier utilization of needed tools and processes to achieve divisional objectives of reduced cost, increased quality, and reduced cycle/lead times

o These tools & processes include:

§ APQP/ PPAP, Procurement Control plans, Top Focus supplier improvement, Manufacturing Process Review, Supplier audits/assessments, Capacity & constraint management

  1. Responsible for coordinating with Supply Chain & Category Specialists (Management) organizations for enabling growth & quality improvements at preferred suppliers.

  2. Monitor and report on supplier quality performance and initiatives to improve.

  3. Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams.

  4. Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, & Engineering, & Supply Chain organizations to drive quality improvements.

  5. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier quality issues.

  6. Drive use data analytics to focus on critical supplier quality issues.

Working Relationships / Working Environment

Internal Interaction – Interacts across the EMA & Global organization with results that impact all levels. Assigned to interface with specific Business Units / Sites, providing a focus for supplier performance, product development, process improvement and personnel development.

External Interaction – In collaboration with the Category Specialists functions, is the Face of Flowserve to the Supply Base. Participates in Supplier and product discussions to develop project frameworks and resolve complex issues

Working Conditions - Operates from an office with significant time spent in a wide variety of manufacturing environments and global locations.

Travel – 40% domestic and international, via all modes of transportation.

  • Familiar with CIP/Lean principles

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Accuratey captures, records, analyses, and communicates information

  • Good team player with strong inter-personal skills who enjoys difficult challenges, finding solutions not problems with good communication skills at all levels, written and verbal.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Ability to cope with multiple complex situations daily

  • Proficient with MS Office applications to aggregate data, formulate analysis and present decision positions. Relevant experience with major ERP and manufacturing systems

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

Position Requirements:

  • Technical, Quality background in one of the following areas; casting, forging, metallurgy, or work as Supplier Quality Development Engineer in this field.

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor (preferred).
