Flowserve Corporation Pricing Analyst in IRVING, Texas

The Business Analyst will support pricing optimization changes and policies for products in the Flowserve portfolio which includes leading brands in product categories such as engineered pumps, industrial pumps, valves, seals and aftermarket parts and services. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and driving pricing strategies globally to drive profitable growth for all Flowserve business segments. The Business Analyst will provide analytical support to monitor and optimize pricing strategy through continuous improvement of the enterprise pricing process and execution of targeted pricing studies.
Develops and defines appropriate price process, guidelines, content for Flowserve products
With limited direction can structure and execute appropriate pricing analyses to identify and quantify opportunities
Manages development and deployment of complex pricing models
Establishes and manages adherence to pricing policies through development, application, and regular reviews of price variance charts and metrics with business stakeholders
Supports bid pricing strategy as required by Sales, advises on inflationary and currency-based risks to price
Supports Product Management and Industry Marketing with understanding of Revenue and Margin impacts on Customer and Product Profitability
Provides management with monthly metrics including trends in bookings, sell price, speed to quote, etc.
Interacts with Product Management and regularly monitors industry pricing practices, particularly for major competitors and distributors
Understands current economic conditions and provides analytical support for annual pricing increases
Understands value position of products against competition, competing alternatives, and internal product offering
Determines appropriate list prices and discount structure based on analysis of market climate and competition, and product life cycle
Consults with new product development team in defining customer economic value proposition and product commercialization plan
Leads discussion on evaluating costing and pricing analysis for new or existing products with cross-functional and site teams
BS in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field with 5 years or more experience (advanced degree or certification preferred)
Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills
Background and understanding of Oil & Gas, Power and Chemical industry preferred
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
Experience with Alteryx, SQL, R, Python, etc. a plus
Knowledge of sales process
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project management skills with sales/marketing experience
Willing and capable of facilitating change in organization
General understanding of financial and cost accounting practices
Must be able to maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping pricing information confidential
