Job Title: Precision Assembler

Work Location: Bridgeport, New Jersey

Shift: 2 nd Shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM) 4 Day, 10-hour shift, Monday - Thursday

  10. Safely lift and or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly

  11. Demonstrates a good working knowledge of all tear down, inspection, assembly and testing equipment functions and servicing. Perform preventative maintenance as assigned.

  12. Responsible for quality of work performed; work efficiently and to required specifications with minimal supervision

  13. Demonstrates working knowledge of the process flow of parts and assemblies through the repair process

  14. Fully understands and implements all data entry systems and processes. Thorough understanding of all tools, techniques, and procedures required to accomplish the repair and assembly of a seal with minimal supervision.

  15. Capable of gaining access to drawings on Flowserve data systems

  16. Capable of performing to establish standards with minimal training and supervision

  17. Displays product knowledge of basic component seals, basic cartridges seals, bellows seals, and spring seals to include but no limited to QB, Uniseal series, BR series, GW series and ISC. Has specific skills in the area of graphite gaskets, solid PTFE gaskets, U-cups, spring energized tec-rings, electro-polished parts, heat shrink processes, static air testing and hydro-testing.

The job incumbent is to be self-motivated and know who can provide technical support when needed. They must be able to work well on a team for project work.

Physical Demands:

Precision Assemblers frequently: Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Lift-up to 50 pounds.

Principle Accountabilities:

  1. Displays a basic mechanical aptitude. Familiar with equipment function and servicing requirements. Able to perform preventive maintenance as assigned.

  2. Display basic understanding of the process flow of parts through the manufacturing/repair process.

  3. Demonstrates a working knowledge of data entry systems and processes.

  4. Capable of reading prints and drawings.

  5. Displays a basic understanding of the QRC Scorecard.

  6. Ensures that individual performance supports the QRC’s efforts at maintaining performance standards in the areas of safety, cost of scrap/rework, on time performance, direct labor hours, manufacturing $/Hr and overtime $/day.

  7. Be familiar with shop order documentation QC requirements, manufacturing processes and packaging standards.

  8. Apply same to jobs and staying updated in these disciplines is required.

  9. Use, refer to and understand engineering prints and quality procedures in their entirety and applying same to job.

  11. Adhere to safe work habits, rules and practices, including the correct use of safety devices and equipment and maintain a clean and orderly work place “6S” to include preventative machine maintenance.

  12. Responsible for quality of work performed; work efficiently and to required specifications with minimal supervision.

  13. Fully understand and implements all data entry systems and processes. Thorough understanding of all tools, techniques and procedures required to accomplish daily tasks with minimal supervision. Capable of gaining access to drawings on Flowserve data systems.

  14. Capable of performing established standards with minimal training and supervision

  15. Able to use basic gauging such as calipers and micrometers.

  16. Report to work punctually, as scheduled.

  17. Report any absence to your immediate supervisor or team lead prior to, or immediately after the start of the

workday.
