The Baton Rouge Pumps QRC is a maintenance and repairfacility for Flowserve’s pumps and rotating equipment. The QRC provides immediate, local service toour customers in the oil and gas, chemical, water, power, and other industries.We’re looking for a Manufacturing Manager who can lead a fast-paced, hands-onshop, while aligning to strategic corporate direction.
Manufacturing Manager’s duties include, but not limitedto:
Manages shop personnel, to include machinists andmechanics, to high levels of employee engagement, and technical excellence.
Be the “Ambassador” of best practices and ensure yourteams are continually developing and executing world class best practices andprograms in an effort to differentiate Flowserve from its competitors, meetrevenue targets, operating margins, and strategic objectives.
Convey a sense of contagious passion for the work andinspire commitment to the vision and strategic direction of the organization.
Continuously evaluate staffing levels and skill mixes toensure the shop has the capacity to meet the demand for products and services.
Facilitate problem-solving discussions effectively, witha collaborative approach and a mastery of problem-solving tools and methods
Achieve safety goals by ensuring your work and other workin the facility is performed safely. Actively maintains a safe work environmentand abides by all safety policies.
Actively participate in the CPP process and develop SMARTgoals and objectives. Effectively communicates with direct reports on a routinebasis regarding their individual performance against their established goals.
Communicate all issues related to shop status andproduction to the shop team, the rest of the management team and to FlowserveSales team as needed.
Be punctual in attendance at required meetings. Spendtime in the shop on all shifts to build rapport with and understanding of theteam.
Plans, schedules, and manages all manufacturing, repairand assembly production processes for the Baton Rouge Pump Quick ResponseCenter.
Assists with planning and directing an efficient layoutof equipment and flow of materials.
Ensures manufacturing performance, volume and qualitygoals are met by utilizing efficient methods and maintaining appropriatestaffing levels.
Ensures preventive maintenance plan is in place andadhered to in order to maintain equipment readiness and minimize unplanneddowntime resulting in lost productivity.
Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performanceof their jobs. Has full authority for personnel actions.
Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are metand adhere to approved budgets.
Extensive knowledge of department processes andprocedures.
Reports directly to the Baton Rouge Pump Quick ResponseCenter Manager.
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or a minimum 20 years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the related area preferred
5 or more years of supervisory experience managing large teams.
Financial acumen with the ability to maintain,understands, and communicates operational and financial metrics, while usingthese metrics to drive performance.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate withothers, including external sales, supply chain, customer service, engineering,field services, etc.
Must have a collaborative style that encourages the freeflow of communication, removes obstacles, and promotes problem solving andteamwork.
Capable of quickly establishing credibility, influencingconstituencies and persuading professionals at all levels.
Strong results orientation and a tireless work ethic withthe emotional intelligence to know when to push harder and when to look foralternative approaches.
Demonstrated capability to lead change and transformationactivities, thereby generating process improvements which lead to greatereffectiveness and efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a hands-on environmentwhen necessary, yet see the big picture on a global basis.
- Working knowledge of lean, six sigma. Certification in six sigma preferred.
