Flowserve Roosendaal is handling orders for well-known End Users in Oil & Gas (also Chemical, Power and other industries), supplies mechanical seals and systems to make sure that sealing on pumps, compressors and mixers is arranged properly.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
CAD design capabilities for systems in 2D/3D, experience in Inventor is preferred.
Knowledge of pressure vessels and instrumentation is preferred.
Experience with reading and interpreting technical customer specifications.
Knowledge of design process and able to review and mark-up design drawings.
Able to set up a P&ID vs. specifications.
Able to select components vs. specifications.
Able to do required design calculations.
Knowledge of systems manufacturing and welding.
Knowledge on quality procedures.
Able to work in a team and well organized according planning.
Excellent computer knowledge, specifically Excel and Word.
Good communication skills with Customer, Sales, Operations and Engineering.
Excellent in spoken and written English.
Flexible concerning working hours & willing to travel for planned visits or to overcome unexpected issues (5-10%).
Review, understand and summarize customer requirements plus specifications.
Make instrument/part selection and determine initial design of appropriate system.
Control the creation of drawings and planning of engineering activities.
Instruct drafting team properly.
Occasionally create designs, drawings and other documents with the help of AutoCAD or Inventor.
Drive, control and take ownership of outsourced engineering work and required supplier input.
Coordination of technical project aspects (including interface between seals and systems).
Estimate/Determine cost and delivery impact of changes to the scope of supply.
Handle QA requirements for orders, prepare quality plan for order and components.
Determine if inspection is required and support at inspection or testing if required.
Investigate warranty issues.
Provide Sales support.
Join kick-off, Hazop and/or clarification meetings.
Provide technical training.
The Project Engineer, who is part of the seal system engineering team, is responsible for several important tasks throughout the assigned projects with regards to the design and manufacturing of pump and compressor seal systems.The Project Engineer will be screening project input data (including customer specifications) in order to create a good image of the scope. He/she is responsible for different engineering activities and makes sure the customer will receive qualitative outstanding documents in time.
